The high-resolution infrared spectrum of HCF 3 was studied in the m 6 fundamental (near 500 cm À1 ) and in the 2m 6 overtones (near 1000 cm À1 ) regions. The present study reports on the analysis of the hot bands in the m 6 region, as well as the first observation and assignment of the 2m Ç2 6 perpendicular band. Using m 6 , 2m AE2 6 -m AE1 6 and 2m Ç2 6 experimental wavenumbers, accurate coefficients C 0 and D 0 K of the K-dependent ground-state energy terms were obtained, using the so-called ''loop method.'' Ground-state energy differences DðK; J Þ 1⁄4 E 0 ðK; J Þ À E 0 ðK À 3; J Þ were obtained for K 1⁄4 3-30. A least-squares fit of 81 such differences gave the following results (in cm À1 ): C 0 1⁄4 0:1892550ð15Þ; D 0 K 1⁄4 2:779ð26Þ Â 10 À7 .
