Richard Robinson (1628-1693) was the grandson of Christopher Robinson (d.1633) and Dorothy (d.1638) of Wensleydale, Yorkshire, England. Family members were long established in the area. He married Margaret (d.1689) and they were the parents of nine children. They were avid members of the Quaker faith and were personal friends of George Fox.
