In February 2020, there were several reported incidents of human rights violations against indigenous Jumma people in the Chittagong Hill Tracts region of Bangladesh. Armed groups backed by the military attacked and kidnapped innocent Jumma villagers, killing 7 people. Militants also set fire to 12 homes. Additionally, Bengali Muslim settlers continued attempts to forcibly seize Jumma lands, leading to clashes between the communities.
