About this document

Adult Brainstem Gliomas Overview by Juan Diego Martinez Lemus is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Adult brainstem gliomas are a rare and heterogeneous group of brain tumors that vary in pathology, imaging appearance, clinical course, and prognosis. Diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas represent the most common subtype in adults. While still considered aggressive, they have a more insidious clinical course and better prognosis than in children. Treatment options remain limited and insufficiently studied. A better understanding of the tumor pathobiology is needed to develop more effective therapies.
