What is Oral Screen Impact on Lip Function about?

This study examined the effects of oral screen treatment on dentition, lip morphology, and function in children with incompetent lips. Over the course of 1 year, the oral screen treatment brought about retroclination of proclined maxillary incisors, decreasing overjet, diastema, and arch length. Mandibular incisors proclined slightly. Lip morphology and function were not affected, but maximum lip force increased substantially with treatment. The impact on orthodontic stability is unknown.
