This study evaluated the use of an appropriate scale mechanization consortium (ASMC) chopper for silage production in Burkina Faso. Maize, sorghum, and millet were chopped and ensiled. Chopping rates were over 6 kg/min for each crop. Nutritive values like NDF and ADF were conserved during ensiling. Silage was then fed to lactating cows, where maize silage intake was higher for one cow at 3.25 kg compared to 2.44 kg for another cow.
