What is Social Support about?

This study examined how received and perceived social support are associated with stress levels in parents of individuals with autism. Both types of support were found to be significantly associated with less reported stress when examined individually. However, when considered together in the same model, only perceived support remained uniquely associated with stress levels. Neither type of support moderated the relationship between commonly known stressors and stress.
