About this document
Understanding Absolute Value Concepts by kp_wise is a document available to read on EtoBox.
An absolute value of a number is its distance from zero on the number line. The absolute value of 3 and -3 is 3. To write an absolute value, use vertical bars. Absolute value equations have two possible solutions and must be solved by separating into two cases - one for the positive version and one for the negative. Graphs of absolute value functions form a V-shape since the y-coordinates must be greater than or equal to 0.
