About this document

Understanding Quantifiers in English by Thelma Estudillo is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Some, any, much, and many are used to talk about indefinite quantities in English. Some is used with plural and uncountable nouns in affirmative sentences and questions that encourage a "yes" response. Any is used in negative sentences and questions. Much is used with uncountable nouns, and many is used with plural countable nouns, especially in questions and negatives. A lot, lots, and plenty are used in affirmative sentences rather than much and many.
