What is Up Against the Wall about?

"This book takes a timely overview of poster design, focusing on the experimental approaches of international designers, design groups and collectives such as Stefan Sagmeister, Ralph Schraivogel, David Tartakover, Leonardo Sonnoli, Pierre Bernard, Uwe Loesch, Koji Mizutani and Studio Boot." "Supported by unique examples of work in progress, interviews and commentary from designers, Up Against The Wall takes the pulse of modern poster design, exploring the persuasive power of simplicity and directness and re-assessing the form in an age dominated by multi-media and the moving image. Issues of scale, location, sequence, image and type are all dealt with in this appreciation of the purest form of visual communication."--Jacket
