This observational analytical study evaluated pain intensity during arterial puncture in newborns and the perceptions of health professionals regarding neonatal pain. Among the 62 punctures performed on 35 neonates, 45.2% experienced severe pain, while 30.6% had no pain or mild pain. The findings highlight the need for systematic pain assessment and appropriate therapeutic interventions during painful procedures in neonatal care.
