This study analyzes the projected increase in heatwave events across four Indian cities (Srinagar, Jaipur, Guwahati, and Visakhapatnam) using CMIP 6 projections under various SSP scenarios. It predicts that extreme heatwave occurrences will rise significantly, with an estimated 104 extreme events expected by the end of the century. The findings emphasize the need for adaptive strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of these predicted heatwave events.
