This article introduces a new method for kinematic analysis of rigid multi-body systems subject to constraints. The method extends standard analysis to over-determined systems by introducing an optimization problem that minimizes violations of constraints. The method allows exact velocity and acceleration analysis by solving linear equations derived from differentiating the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions.
