This document summarizes a study on the role of scavengers in waste management systems at temporary waste storage sites (TPS) in Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The study examined 3 TPS sites over 8 days and interviewed a total of 17 scavengers. On average, the TPS sites received 18.86m3/day of waste at Condongcatur, 16.31m3/day at Tridadi, and 25.66m3/day at Tambakboyo. The percentage of waste sorted by scavengers was 5.4% at Condongcatur, 8.23% at Tridadi, and 22.1% at Tambakboyo.
