Roman New Comedy developed in the late 3rd century BC as Roman authors adapted Greek literary forms like Athenian New Comedies to suit Roman audiences. Two authors of Roman New Comedy survive: Plautus, who wrote between 215-184 BC, and Terence, who wrote between 166-160 BC.
