L+K (Aviation and Cosmonautics) is a fortnightly published magazine in the Czech and Slovak languages (with Czech aviation news in English) with more than eighty years of tradition. It is the oldest aviation periodical in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic as well as in Continental Europe, the second oldest in Europe, and the third oldest in the whole world. It was first published on 21st January, 1921 under the title ‘Letectvi’. After the Communist take-over it was renamed Kridla Vlasti (Wings of Patria), and then adopted it’s current title in 1965. The L+K publishes a wide scope of articles with themes ranging from air transport to modelling, from sports to military aviation, from rocketry to manned spaceflight. Its is an universal aviation and cosmonautics magazine for the widest audience interested in aviation and space both professionally and as a hobby. Between 1965 and 1990 it appeared as a 40 page magazine on poor quality paper, with two colour pages on better paper.
