What is NEIL HAMILTON FAIRLEY (1891–1966) about?

The greatness of Arthur Mills was in his influence as a teacher and as a pioneer of the application of scientific principles to medical practice. He brought physiology and biochemistry to the bedside and to his vivid clinical teaching before scientiflc medicine had made its impact of more recent times, and was a zealous and insistent forerunner in the development of present-day medical education. It is an honour to present this token of our remembrance of a great teacher, who was described, at his life's end, as "the high priest of the new medicine that was being built". It is an added privilege to recall the superb service of another Fellow of our College, Sir Neil Hamilton Fairley, a great physician and scientist, a world figure in tropical medicine, and surely one of the great Australians of his generation.
