This document describes research into harvesting energy from mechanical vibrations using a piezoelectric membrane transducer. It presents an analytical model of the transducer that establishes its dynamic electric equivalent circuit based on impedance matrices. Experiments were conducted with a 25mm diameter piezoelectric membrane that generated 1.8mW of power at its resonance frequency of 2.58kHz when subjected to 2g of acceleration.
