This study assessed the concentration of salivary mucin proteins MUC5B and MUC7 among 190 twelve-year-old children in Mongolia, revealing a high prevalence of dental caries at 88.6%. The results indicated significant differences in unstimulated salivary flow rates among different groups, but no significant differences in mucin concentrations. A weak negative correlation was found between dental caries and salivary flow rate, while a weak positive correlation was noted between dental caries and mucin concent
