The Fiddich Development Project proposes to drill two wells 220km northeast of Aberdeen using water-based and low-toxicity oil-based drilling muds over 180 days. Installation will include a 10.2km flowline trenched below the seabed, a piggybacked gas lift pipeline, and a trench for an umbilical. The environmental impacts were assessed and mitigation measures will minimize impacts. The Environmental Statement was approved on July 24, 2006 after public consultation.
