The Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission ruled in favor of Total Oil India Ltd. by changing their electricity tariff classification from LT Commercial to LT Industrial, effective from the commissioning date of April 2002. The Commission also set aside the demand for arrears of Rs.4,13,948 and ordered a refund of Rs.1,54,578 paid under protest, with interest. The decision is appealable to the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity within 45 days.
