Five villages in the Sagar block of West Bengal, India were severely damaged by saline water flooding during a high tide on July 14, 2014. The flood waters broke through embankments and inundated homes, crops, and infrastructure. Over 350 families in the villages of Dhablat, Shibpur, Bankimnagar, Chemaguri, Manasabazar, Radhikapur, Banijangal, Beguakhali and Sumatinagar were affected.
