They can switch conduction for either polarity of applied voltage when triggered by a positive or negative gate signal. The Motorola MAC210 and MAC210A series triacs can switch currents up to 10 amps with blocking voltages from 200 to 800 volts. They have small, rugged packages and guaranteed gate triggering in three or four modes.
