This study examines the efficient sampling of tree volume using different sized quadrats in tropical forests in Peninsular Malaysia. Data was obtained from a 50-hectare Demography Project plot divided into 1000 contiguous 10x10 meter quadrats. The most efficient quadrat size for sampling tree volume greater than 15 cm diameter at breast height was determined using statistical analysis.
