What is FDA about?
The Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act granted the FDA broad authority to regulate tobacco products and marketing to promote public health. The new law established a Center for Tobacco Products within the FDA to develop product standards and restrict marketing. It also strengthened health warnings and limited federal preemption of some state advertising laws.
