This document summarizes a study examining interactions between Latina transgender women and law enforcement in Los Angeles County. Two hundred and twenty Latina transgender women participated in interviews. The results showed high levels of negative interactions - two-thirds reported verbal harassment, 21% physical assault, and 24% sexual assault by law enforcement. When reporting crimes, over half felt they had been treated poorly. The majority described police interactions with the transgender community
