The Supreme Court of the Philippines upheld the conviction of Gregorio Reyes for the homicide of Fausta Tavera. [1] Reyes stabbed Tavera with a knife after she told him she could not return to their relationship. [2] Though the wound was slight and did not penetrate her chest cavity, Tavera ran screaming to a nearby house and died of shock from the wound. [3] The Court found Reyes guilty of homicide beyond reasonable doubt.
