What is Hydrogen storage in incompletely etched multilayer Ti2CTx at room temperature about?
H ydrogen storage is a key link in the hydrogen economy and of great importance to fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) . Current FCVs use compressed hydrogen in vessels, which have limitations on the volumetric and gravimetric storage densities as well as safety 4 . Solid-state hydrogen storage material is a promising solution to resolve these problems. For onboard applications, the hydrogen storage material should satisfy comprehensive requirements: high gravimetric and volumetric capacities, high storage stability and cycling stability, fast kinetics, near-ambient operating conditions, high safety and low cost . Until now, a variety of solid-state hydrogen storage materials have been developed, which can be classified into two types based on the different storage mechanisms, depending on the interaction between the host and H 2 . Some porous materials with a high specific surface area can capture hydrogen molecules through physical adsorption; further, they can have considerable capacities, excellent kinetics and better cycling performance. However, due to the weak adsorption, it is necessary to operate them at an extremely low temperature (for example, -200 °C) and high pressure 9 . Metal
