About this document

Anticholinergic Burden and Dementia Symptoms by Bhavarth Dave is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This study investigates the threshold for reducing anticholinergic burden (AB) to achieve significant improvements in behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSDs) among older patients. Results indicate that a reduction of 2 points in AB correlates with significant improvements in the frequency and severity of BPSDs, suggesting that minimizing the use of high AB medications is preferable. The findings advocate for a standardized approach to managing AB in dementia patients to enhance their care
