What is Types of Clouds Explained: Cumulus, Stratus, Nimbus about?

Cirrus clouds are composed of ice crystals formed from freezing supercooled water droplets and generally occur in fair weather, pointing in the direction of air movement. Cumulus clouds have flat bases and a puffy, cotton-like appearance. Stratus clouds look like a low, gray blanket and can produce rain or snow depending on temperature, or form fog near the ground. Nimbus clouds produce precipitation such as rain, hail, snow or sleet that reaches the ground.
