Qawasqar [ISO 639-3] (alternative names: Kawsqar, Alacaluf, Halakwulup, Kaweskar, Alakaluf, Kawaskar, Kawesqar, Qawashqar, Halakwalip, Hekaine, Kaueskar, Aksana, Aksans) is a critically endangered indigenous language isolate of the Chilean Tierra del Fuego. It is an Alacalufan language spoken by the Kawsqar people. Originally there were several distinct dialects. Only about 7 speakers remain, most of them on Wellington Island, off the southwestern coast of Chile. This is one of two grammars, available in Spanish, on this language.
