What is Walmart about?

Walmart is interested in entering front-end retail in India now that FDI in multi-brand retail is allowed, but says it will need to fully study the policy before finalizing its plans. Currently, Walmart operates a joint venture with Bharti Group called Bharti Walmart that runs 17 wholesale stores in India. The government has approved 51% FDI in multi-brand retail, aviation, broadcasting and power, allowing foreign companies like Walmart to set up majority-owned retail stores in India.
