This document examines formaldehyde release from cotton fabrics finished with dimethyloldihydroxyethyleneurea (DMDHEU) using standard and modified sealed jar tests. The modified test incubates samples at 20°C instead of 49°C to minimize hydrolytic degradation and better measure free formaldehyde.
