About this document

Statistical Analysis of Rainfall Extremes in Egypt by Ahmed El-Adawy is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This document analyzes the statistical characteristics of extreme rainfall events in Egypt based on historical annual maximum daily rainfall records from 30 stations throughout the country. The Generalized Extreme Value distribution and L-moments parameter estimation method were used to analyze the annual maximum series rainfall data. The results indicate significant variation in rainfall characteristics across Egypt and will help improve methods for estimating extreme rainfall at gauged and ungauged sites.
