What is Cripps Mission about?

The Cripps Mission of 1942, led by Sir Stafford Cripps, aimed to negotiate Indian support for the British during World War II amidst Japanese threats. The proposals for limited reforms and dominion status were rejected by Indian leaders due to the lack of full independence and concerns over national unity. Ultimately, the mission failed as it did not satisfy the demands of either the extremist or moderate factions in India.
