The works of Ingeborg Bachmann, the most prominent Austrian woman writer of the twentieth century, have been translated into English in the last decade. This offers an opportunity to introduce scholarly writings on this author which support the reading and understanding of her work in English-speaking countries. This volume presents research and analysis of a cross-section of her work, ranging from her poetry to her essays, radio plays, short stories, and novels as well as the film adaptation of her novel Malina.
Aside from her best-known writings special attention has been given to lesser known works which offer fresh insight and deeper understanding of a major writer.
