A bus topology connects three stations to a single cable. Computers communicate by addressing data to a particular computer and sending signals on the cable. Terminators are placed at each end of the cable to absorb signals and prevent bouncing between stations. A ring topology connects six stations in a closed loop. Data travels unidirectionally between stations using a token that allows only one station to transmit at a time. Terminators and repeaters help manage signal transmission around the ring.
