Don Malarkey was a member of the Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division during World War 2. He participated in major battles in Normandy, the Netherlands, Bastogne, and Germany, serving longer on the front lines than any other member of Easy Company. The petition requests that the Salem Keizer School District name one of the new schools after Don Malarkey in honor of his heroism and sacrifice as an Oregonian in World War 2.
