What is Reach Teach For India about?
A group of young leaders working to reform education in India came together in 2006 to seek an innovative solution to end educational inequity in the country. In June 2009, Teach For India placed its first cohort of 87 Fellows in low-income municipal and private schools in Pune and Mumbai. The schools do not pay Fellows; instead TFI directly employs them and only fills existing teacher vacancies within the school system.
