Can I read Time Compression Techniques for Full- Duplex Communications on One Fiber on EtoBox?

Time Compression Techniques for Full- Duplex Communications on One Fiber by E. E. Bergmann; D. A. Snyder is a Engineering article available to read on EtoBox.

What is Time Compression Techniques for Full- Duplex Communications on One Fiber about?

We have demonstrated full duplex synchronous data transmission at 64 kbit/s with time compression multiplexing (TCM). The technique requires only one singlemode fiber and employs a ping-pong protocol to provide two way transmission with immunity to optical reflections. The demonstrated operational distance has been varied from 0 to 52 km without any manual circuit adjustments. We can trade-off speed against distance and expect that we could operate at 321 kbit/s over 12km. The laser transceiver ("LDX") consists of a laser diode that acts as a photodiode during periods of reception. It is operated in the "conventional" way when used as a transmitter.
