This study investigates the impact of orthodontic treatment need on oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) among 8 to 9-year-olds in Germany, using data from the Sixth German Oral Health Study. The analysis included 705 children and found that those with orthodontic treatment needs had slightly lower OHRQoL scores compared to those without such needs, although the overall impairment level was low. The findings suggest that malocclusions requiring orthodontic treatment do influence OHRQoL.
