About this document
NDVI Response to Climate in Great Plains by Nicole Astrid Vergara Camarena is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This document summarizes a 2001 study that analyzed the relationship between NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, a measure of green biomass and productivity), precipitation, and temperature in Kansas from 1989 to 1997. The study constructed biweekly climate and NDVI maps for the growing season and found that average precipitation strongly predicts the major east-west NDVI gradient in Kansas. Deviations from average precipitation explained most of the year-to-year variation in NDVI spatial patterns
