What is Reducing Noise in The Academic Library The Effectiveness of Installing Noise Meters about?

The document discusses a study that examined the effectiveness of installing noise meters in an academic library to reduce noise levels. Surveys and decibel measurements were taken before and after installing the meters in intervention and control areas. The study found that the noise meters had no statistically significant effect on actual noise levels or user noise perceptions. While noise was a common complaint, it was not the primary source of complaints in the quiet study areas.
