Yersinia enterocolitica YscC Structure by Diego Tulcan is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The type III secretion system (T3SS) is used by pathogenic Yersinia bacteria to inject effector proteins into host cells during infection. This study determined the three-dimensional structures of the native YscC secretin complex from Yersinia enterocolitica and its protease-resistant core at 12 Angstrom resolution using cryo-electron microscopy. YscC was found to form a dodecameric complex and consists of an outer membrane ring connected via a thin cylindrical wall to a conical, periplasmic region that exp
