What is Understanding BGP: Peers, States, and Methods about?

BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) is utilized for inter-autonomous system communication, with iBGP for internal peers and eBGP for external peers. It operates through various message types such as OPEN, UPDATE, KEEPALIVE, and NOTIFICATION, and has multiple states from Idle to Established. BGP requires a fully meshed internal network, which can be managed using route reflectors and confederations to simplify routing within an AS.
