This study investigated the impact of malnutrition before and after gastrectomy for gastric cancer on long-term survival. The researchers evaluated 760 patients who underwent gastrectomy for gastric cancer between 2002-2013 using the Nutrition Risk Index to assess nutritional status before surgery and at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months post-operatively.
