Jamaica Pung, a 9-year old student, was killed in a car accident near his home in Port Moresby. According to witness reports, the driver of the vehicle, Joel Jim, was driving recklessly and failed to slow down at a junction, causing him to lose control of his vehicle and hit Jamaica, who was waiting to cross the road.
