What is Intonation Patterns in Enumeration about?

If a sentence contains a list of items, each item is pronounced with a lower rising intonation than the previous one, except for the final item which is pronounced with a falling intonation if the list is complete or a rising intonation if it is not. However, if the speaker wants each item to be considered separately important, a falling intonation is used for each item and the sentence is spoken slowly and deliberately with longer pauses between items.
