Territories can be assigned to accounts, contacts, and potentials automatically based on territory assignment rules or manually. When a record meets the criteria for a territory in the hierarchy, it will be assigned to that territory. A record can be assigned to multiple territories if it meets the criteria for all of them. Territory reassignment may occur for related child records if the parent record is modified and assigned to a different territory.
