What is Beractant: Indications and Administration about?
Beractant is a natural bovine lung surfactant used to treat Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) in neonates. It reduces surface tension in the lungs and replaces the missing surfactant. Beractant is administered intratracheally in doses of 100 mg phospholipids/kg birth weight for prophylaxis or rescue treatment of RDS.
